I want to get my insurance license. How do I get started?
You need to check with you state's insurance department to see if there are any prelicensing requirements before you take the big test. Some states do not have a prelicensing course requirement, but some do. Those states that do require a course typically have a list of approved courses that meet a certain hour and education requirement. Make sure that if you are taking this course to fulfill your state's prelicensing requirement that America's Professor is on their list of approved courses (which is on your state's website). If you have already fulfilled your state's prelicensing requirements by taking a different course and only wish to take our course as "test prep" then that's ok too.
Most of our students live in states that do not require prelicensing education so we can teach our courses in those states. The states that do require prelicensing education make America's Professor go through an approval process. We will continue to go through this process state by state so please check back time-to-time to see if we have added any new courses for your state.
After you have finished our prelicensing course it is recommended that you take the big exam, provided by your state's insurance license provider, as soon as possible. Don't get this test confused with our course's final exam, which some people will be taking for their college credit capable course. In most cases the big exam to get your license will be setup by a Pearson Vue test center employee. We recommend calling them and setting it up over the phone. We will go over this information in more depth in our insurance courses.

- If you can view our demo then you're good!
- Browsing cookies must be "enabled". Google search: How do I enable cookies?
- Different internet browsers "render" websites differently and we have had the best luck with Internet Explorer 7+ and Chrome. Many other web browsers, like Firefox, will work but they mess with our homepage drop downs. It shouldn't be a problem within a course so make sure to watch our demo and try our demo course lecture (talked about in our demo).
- High speed internet connection (check demo to see how videos load). If you do not have a fast internet connection our videos will take longer to load.
Free Download (To play the videos) There have been a few Adobe Flash Player bugs with some versions of Flash Player 9. If you can view the video on our home page then everything should work fine. If you can not view the video on the home page we ask you to install the newest version of Flash Player (link above). If you are still having problems please give us a call @ 1-800-870-3130. In most cases uninstalling flash player and reinstalling the most up-to-date version has fixed any problems.
